2018/19 Vacation Students - Feedback

 Joe Murphy

Joseph Murphy, 2018/19

University: University of Western Australia

Course: Bachelor of Science: Engineering Science (UWA) (2013-2016)

Did you find the Summer Vacation Programme to be a valuable experience and has it contributed in getting you to where you are now?

My time at Assetivity has been an incredibly valuable experience – it really has allowed me to take on exciting challenges in an enjoyable and supportive environment.

The wide range of clients that I’ve been exposed to (particularly in the mining sector) is especially valuable to me. I had the privilege to travel interstate to work onsite at a large mutli-metals processing facility, and that experience is something I will probably never forget.

In terms of the work environment, the staff in the office are always friendly and approachable, which makes the potentially daunting transition from University life to an office environment easy and effortless. The amount of knowledge and experience the staff have -and are willing to share- is amazing and I cannot recommend this company enough.

Did you find the Summer Vacation Programme to be a valuable experience and has it contributed in getting you to where you are now?

Accepting this position gave me a better understanding of asset management and what this area requires from an undergraduate engineer. The personal mentorship, guidance and experience I received was beneficial for my growth as an excellent engineer in this area of specialisation.

Its understandable why Assetivity is one of the leading consultancies for asset management in Australia due to their excellent quality of work and dedication to their clients to achieve their goals.
